Before my dental reconstruction, my smile was in bad shape. Not only did I have several missing teeth, the teeth I did have were just as embarrassing. They were discolored, cracked and broken. I had four or five crowns that were failing and the porcelain was falling off of a few of them.

As a person who loves to joke and laugh, I could not help but try and cover my mouth when I would smile or laugh. Every picture I took was a closed mouth smile. I was very uncomfortable and unhappy about my appearance. In addition to my bad smile, I was very much overweight and was having a hard time finding a good job. I always worked, but was only working as a contractor in the IT Support field. I always felt that my appearance was hindering my professional life and would be more successful if I looked more presentable.

Once my reconstruction began, things started to change. The process instigated a loss in weight where I lost about 12 pounds in two weeks. This inspired me to change my diet and I went on to lose over 60 pounds over the next three or four months. I now had a smile that I could be confident with and an overall appearance that allowed me to do something I haven’t done in years - look people in the eye and smile.

The employer that I had been contracting with hired me full time and just recently I interviewed for a great position with a high powered law firm and I got the job!! The interview was amazing. I was looking my new boss in the eye and I was smiling and feeling so confident that I would nail this interview and I did!! I am absolutely convinced that my new smile was the catalyst for all the positive changes in my life. Before all of this I felt that when I was at a job interview it was over before it started because really of my appearance.

Furthermore, I am a youth basketball coach and love kids, but I always felt that they were looking at my teeth and not hearing me whenever I was talking to them. Now my relationship with the kids and their parents is better than I can ever remember.

Dr Tim made this all possible. In many ways he saved my life, or at the very least made it far more worth living. I can’t help but thank him every time I see him. He’s my dentist but way more importantly, he’s a great friend.-Matt. M.
